Resetting 'Admin' user's Password

Problem

Lost the password for the Admin user on the Enterprise Commander/Dossier server. 

Solution

If you have lost the password for the Admin user. Perform the below steps to reset the password back to its default.

Note
If your server is on EventZero's cloud please contact support (support@eventzero.com) to reset the Admin password back to default.

If your server is installed on your infrastructure, please follow the below steps:

  1. Login to the SQL server hosting the Enterprise Commander/Dossier server data using a administrative account. 

    Warning

    At this stage keep in mind that performing the below will delete all previously created users. This has to be done for the server to recreate the default user.

  2. Run the following SQL command on the Enterprise Commander/Dossier Database

    DELETE FROM ENGINEROOM.AuthUser_Roles2 

    DELETE from ENGINEROOM.AuthUser

  3.  Once the data on that table has been deleted. Please restart the server service. This can be done via the Enterprise Commander Manager app installed on the windows server hosting Enterprise Commander. 
  4. Open the Enterprise Commander Manager App. Open the 'Commander' tab. Choose stop and then start again. 
  5. After the restart you should be able to login into the portal using the default admin credentials:
    Username: admin
    Password: admin
