Troubleshooting Connector installation permission issues
Problem
The connector installation may stop with an error stating that the user does not have enough privileges.
Solution
When the above issue occurs, please check the following:
- User permissions: The connector installer need to run as an administrator as it will be installing system services during the installation. Check to make sure that the user that you are logged in as or the user the installer is running as is an Admin.
- .Net 4.5 installation: In certain case EventZero Support as seen this error when .net 4.5 was not installed. This mostly occurs in windows 2008 servers. Please download .net 4.5 and install it and try the install again.
- Non-responsive service: If the install has been tried multiple times, the odds are that a connector controller service has already been installed and trying to stop to go through the installation process. Note the service will non-responsive and will show that it is in the stopping state. In this case, the server will need a reboot.
