Concept Overview
The below diagram represents the concept of Dossier for Enterprise Print within an environment. Printing within an environment can be achieved through the following ways;
- Network Printing Via a Print Server.
- Direct Network Connection via an IP Address.
- Direct Connection via USB Cable.
- Shared network printing.
- Shared Locally attach printing.
In order to record accurate and real time printing data the DMA Client Agent is required to be installed on multiple locations in order to capture the correct data.
- To capture network printing the DMA Client Agent is required to be installed on endpoints and on print servers
- To capture direct network printing and shared network printing the DMA Client Agent is required to be installed on multiple endpoints.
- To capture printers that are directly connected to endpoints via USB and also shared printing using locally attached printers the DMA Client Agent is required to be installed on endpoints.
